Party Coordinating

Party basics - questions to consider:

Who is this Party for?
When is it?
Where is it?
Party schedule? (Mike will help you plan it)

What's the reason for your Party?

  • Wedding
  • Office Party
  • Holiday Party
  • Birthday / Anniversary
  • Or, just any good reason to Party!

How about a theme - the current Party rage!

  • Beach Theme (when in San Diego . . . )
  • Taste of California (with food stations each representing . . . )
  • Team Building event: "Americana Idol", "Build and Donate Bikes", "FASCAR"
  • You're a smart person, think of a cool theme and go with it! (Mike will help you)

What's for dinner?

  • "Buffet" - guests walk either side of food displayed on long table(s)
  • "Plated" - waite staff serve your guests (classy but cost more)

How long?

  • Cocktail Hour - usually one hour of drinks and socializing
  • Meal - figure one hour and plan accordingly (your caterer will help you)
  • With Award Ceremony / Special Dances
  • Dancing - two to three hours is ideal - Leave 'em wanting for more!

Master of Ceremonies / Disc Jockey

  • "Ronny Radio" - this is the cheezy DJ your friends warn you about!
  • "Friend of a friend is a DJ" - sound pretty scetchy - worth the risk?
  • In the Yellow Pages . . .the cheapest one! - be careful, lots of people want to be DJs
  • Mike on the mike - perfect! "Classy, yet fun"
